Yume Nikki Wiki

About the size[]

If anyone could look into RPG Maker, add up all the tile values for the maps of this location and the Wilderness to see which one is truly bigger, that would be much appreciated! Onsen-san GreenToxicTalk 17:40, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

The low-pitched jingle that plays after the scraping sound might not be a part of White Desert's BGM.[]

There are two ways of proving this: 1. Whenever you alt+tab out of Yume Nikki, everything but the music stops playing. So, for example, when you alt+tab in Candle World, the Dwarf's footsteps stop playing, but you can still hear the music. When you do that in White Desert, however. you can still hear the scraping sound, but not the jingle. 2. The sound file for White Desert's BGM (which i presume is 118.mp3 in \Yume Nikki\yumenikki\Music\ for the Steam release) is just the scraping sound without the jingle.

You are indeed correct! The other sound that plays does so every six seconds, and as it is a sound effect file instead of part of the music, if you click off of the game or go into the menu it stops playing. Yup! Onsen-san GreenToxicMessage Onsen-san 03:51, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

Possible cordel inspiration?[]

has anyone looked at brazillian traditional cordel art as a possible source of inspiration for the white desert? i've always found the style of the area to be very very similar to the woodcuts that accompanied cordel literature. the similarities are really odd: desert landscape, completely monochromatic style, simpler shapes. the dave spector npc also really resembles the way people are represented in some cordel art, with large head proportions and very flat bodies. this all might very much be a coincidence and not at all made on purpose or even relevant, considering cordel is in no way well known outside of brazil, but seeing the large attention and clear inspiration from other latin american art forms, i wonder if maybe kikiyama intended this similarity as well.

You make a very good point, there are striking similarities between them. This might be worth mentioning on the page. FlowersintheWindow (talk) 02:21, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
